Moreton Hall Maintains Outstanding A Level Grades Despite Downturn in National Results

“Despite warnings from the Secretary of State for Education that this year’s A Level students would see a significant fall in grades, we are delighted to announce that our track record of excellent results has been maintained in 2014,” announces Moreton Hall Principal, Jonathan Forster. “We are celebrating another strong year with nearly half of all entries achieving A* and A grades. In addition, nearly a quarter of our students achieved straight As and A*s in all their subjects.

“This success runs across a broad spectrum of subjects with Latin, Greek, History, ICT, Business Studies and Spanish amongst the subjects achieving 100% A* and A grades”.

“Of particular note – in a year that saw the opening of our new Science Centre – are the impressive results across the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Sixty-four per cent of our Upper Sixth chose STEM subjects as part of their A Level portfolio, with many choosing to study Science related subjects at University. It is a huge endorsement of our commitment to provide impressive facilities and outstanding teaching which, in turn, propels our students on to rewarding and valuable careers.”
