Natalya Kahn (Year 13, aged 17) has been awarded first prize in the Gladstone Ancient History essay prize of the National Schools Classics Magazine – Omnibus – for her essay entitled: ‘What can we learn about the society and culture of Roman Britain from archaeological and non-literary sources?’

The competition attracted a wide range of entries from schools around the country with Natalya’s lively, detailed, and well-written piece a deserved winner. The essay will be printed in the first issue of Omnibus in 2014.

Natalya was also highly commended recently in the St. John’s College, Oxford University, essay competition and aims to continue writing, she said: “I’m so happy to have won, it was great to be awarded for something I really enjoy doing!”
