IMG_6019This year is the 150th anniversary of the children’s charity Barnardo’s and today’s rain did not stop the intrepid toddlers of The Mount Pre-School from their annual fundraising Big Toddle.

This year’s theme was ‘Wild Animals’ and the 2-4 year olds dressed up in animal costumes to walk around the Quaker school’s spacious playing fields, spotting special ‘wild animal’ pictures that were dotted along the route and marking them off on a check-list.

Janine Tanner, Head of the Busy Bees (2-3 year olds) said, “The rain is not dampening anyone’s spirits this morning. The children are very excited and because this is York they are used to going out in all weathers.  We are just starting looking at wild animals so it’s a fun way for the children to combine their topic work with an adventure.”

After the walk, the children, staff and accompanying parents enjoyed a snack.
