Pupils at The Mount School have achieved full marks in their London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) exams.

All pupils in the Junior School achieved 100% distinctions, with the Senior School’s year 7 and 9 pupils following suit.

Rachel Lavell, speech and drama teacher at the school, said: I am so proud of the pupils, particularly those in the Junior School who worked really hard all year on their pieces.  This wonderful result chimes with the amount of effort they put in and I am sure their families are proud of them too.”

Rachel Capper, head of The Mount Junior School, added: “We have a very unique environment here at The Mount Junior School, where our Quaker ethos fosters the pupils’ self-belief and sensitivity to others. While our school community is known for its tolerance and diversity, this also means that our pupils know their voice is valued and that they can make a difference.  When young people have that level of unassuming confidence, their creativity knows no limits.

“I am very proud of the children’s achievement; 100% Distinctions in LAMDA results is truly outstanding. Congratulations also go to Mrs Lavell, who seems to repeat this incredible stunt every year.”
