At 3pm on Saturday 4th August supported by his family Team Floresca and friends, Patrick started the challenge of swimming, cycling and running non-stop for 24 hours along the Deal to Kingsdown shoreline.

Being a committed supporter of the Walmer RNLI Patrick
wanted to raise funds for the charity by pushing himself to break
physical and mental endurance barriers.

The distances involved included swimming 18.9 miles (the English
Channel crossing distance), cycling 51 miles and running 13.5 miles.

“Tiredness slowed down the pace during the midnight and 3am laps. Swimming twice between the Pier and Kingsdown in the dark following two flashing green lights worn by a member of Team Floresca in the safety canoe was the most extraordinary thing I have ever done” he commented.

Patrick has so far raised £248 of his £500 target, and is appealing for any additional contributions. If you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause please make cheques payable to the Walmer RNLI and post to Patrick Papougnot, c/o Northbourne Park School, Betteshanger, Deal, Kent CT14 0NW
