Northbourne Park line Dancing During an ordinary day at school it would not be unusual to hear the chatter of excited voices from a classroom.

However, on Thursday 17th January, ‘5-6-7-8’ was creating quite a stir as Class 1 and Class 2 children from Northbourne Park Pre-Prep School took part in a Line Dancing lesson!

The session was lead by Northbourne Park School’s new Director of Outdoor Education, Priscilla Smith, who imaginatively adapted her lesson for some of the younger members of the school community.

The children very successfully learnt a short routine comprising grapevines, turns, pivots and claps, accompanied by smiles and much enjoyment.

A light-hearted ‘dance-off’ between boys and girls (resulting in a draw!) added further fun elements to the lesson and proved both boys and girls to be equally matched in their abilities.

This is helped, no doubt, by the variety of creative fitness lessons already attended by the classes at the Pre-Prep School, which include Yoga and Zumba, as well as curriculum P.E. lessons lead by the Prep School’s Director of Sport, Craig Riley.
