Northbourne Park School
Olympiad – Saturday 3rd September 2011
The School began the games to help integrate all pupils of the school, boys and girls, British, French and Spanish pupils at the commencement of the new academic year.
Pupils and staff watched with excitement as the NPS Olympic Flame was lit and after the opening ceremony the competitors got on with a wide range of exciting competitive challenges.
Pupils represented one of four houses, Drake, Marlborough, Nelson or Wellington in nine extra-curricular competitions in the morning and 4 sports mini-tournaments in the afternoon. The houses had also to find a mascot, design a flag and prepare a song to be performed in the gymnasium in front of their parents and an international jury with mums, dads and staff.
The winning house 2011 year was Wellington house. Well done to all competitors!
