A group of Year 8 and Cinquième children from Northbourne Park School had the exciting opportunity to become language ambassadors, teaching the Year 6 pupils at nearby Northbourne Primary school. They provided Spanish and French workshops, teaching two topics through a series of fun activities that they themselves devised.
Head of Spanish, Francesca Modi at Northbourne Park School, was delighted with the experience: “Our school prides itself on the high level of French and Spanish that the pupils achieve, with pupils learning French from nursery, and Spanish from Year 5. It has been a pleasure to let our senior pupils share their language skills and cultural knowledge with students attending our neighbouring primary school.” The children in both schools were similarly enthused by the experience, with one Year 6 pupil describing the morning as “fantástico!”
