On Tuesday 14th March, the children at Northbourne Park School’s Nursery and Pre-Prep were very excited to welcome their very special visitors from ZooLab.
ZooLab is the UK’s number 1 animal handling experience company offering educational workshops specializing in stimulating an interest in science, nature and learning. Charlie Hales, Zoolab representative, brought with her a menagerie of animals and critters giving the children an amazing opportunity to meet and hold some of them including a snake and a tarantula!
Nursery and Reception children enjoyed their animal experience with their wriggly visitors by understanding how they move by trying to move like they do. They had the opportunity to be a rabbit, snake, tarantula and a snail. Children in Years 1 and 2 learnt all about habitats. By exploring tropical rainforests, deserts, Polar regions and oceans, the children were able to learn about what makes a habitat and why they matter to animals and humans.
Gillian Rees, Head of the Pre-Prep said: “All the children loved the experience and got a lot of enjoyment from seeing and handling the animals. Charlie, our Ranger for the afternoon was very knowledgeable and the children came away with a greater insight into the animal kingdom. What a brilliant afternoon.”
