Northbourne_Park_summer_filmingNorthbourne Park School was action-packed with adventure this summer with nearly 600 children aged between 3 to 18, participating in various holiday activity clubs throughout July and August.

From the 6th July to the 5th August, and for the second year running, Northbourne Park International Language Centre happily welcomed the arrival of over 100 international students to its English teaching and holiday programme.  Students from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Russia had a wonderful time experiencing English culture and learning English.

Northbourne Park’s very own Bourne to Have Fun, a new summer activity club designed specifically for 3-7 year olds, was overwhelmingly successful.  Entertained daily with creative activities, it ran for 3 weeks throughout July and August, at the school’s Pre-Prep site.  In a safe and secure environment, the Pre-Prep site naturally caters for the younger age group.

The school also welcomed the return of the Supercamps Multi-Activity Club, the East Kent Music Trust and Multisports which saw huge support form children in the local area.

The summer ended as successfully as it began, with Marathon Films Ltd hiring the school as a film set for part of its new production entitled “The Greatest Living Englishman”, a film starring Warren Brown as Captain Harry Webb, the first Englishman to swim the English Channel.  Director Justin Hardy and producer Jack Eskdale-Fishburn chose the school with its Victorian buildings as an ideal location for the Victorian era based film.

Headmaster, Edward Balfour said “The variety and energy of our educational programmes now continue throughout the holidays.  It is wonderful to see how many local pupils enjoy that distinctive spirit of adventure for which Northbourne Park is renowned”.
