Old Ratcliffian, Sachin Jivanji has been selected for the Cambridge University Blues Hockey team to play in the Ratcliffe College Cambridge HOCKEY113th Varsity Match. The Matches will be held on Sunday 10th March 2013 at Southgate Hockey Centre.

The day comprises five exhibition matches and both the Men’s and Women’s Varsity Matches, played on two pitches.

Sachin joined Ratcliffe College in year 8, and produced consistently outstanding work, recognised by numerous school subject prizes and several scholarships, culminating in the best GCSE and AS results of his year.

He was a similarly outstanding sportsman, representing England at Hockey. His reliability, maturity and sociable nature led to his appointment as Head Boy.

Sachin commented: ‘Our side has trained hard in the last couple of weeks and we've built up some winning momentum so hopefully we can take this through to March and retain the Varsity crown!’

Headmaster, Mr Gareth Lloyd, is delighted for Sachin: ‘It is wonderful to hear of such an achievement. Sachin is a great credit to himself and all those who have worked with him over the years. We are very proud of him!’
