Olympic Star Inspires Youngsters

GB Olympic hockey bronze medaKent College Alex Danson Olympicsllist , Alex Danson, visited Kent College for a day of inspirational coaching followed by a motivational talk to both parents and pupils. The youngsters from Kent College who listened to Alex have certainly been inspired and this term has seen some amazing hockey successes for the school . There have been four girls’ County tournaments so far this year and Kent College have qualified as the one of the top two teams in all of them. This means that the Under 13, Under.14 & Unde .16 Kent College teams will represent the County of Kent at the regional finals later this year. Making Kent College the most successful hockey school in the County. Kings also forward to regionals with Under 18 and Under 14 girls making Canterbury a very dominant area for hockey and girls’ sport. Nick Clark, England, Canterbury and Kent College coach said “this is a fine achievement for the school but also highlights the excellent commitment of the pupils. It all bodes well for the future as many of these youngsters will step up into higher levels of hockey just like Alex Danson.
Some Kent College students already on the England young talent pathway are: Harry Roberts; Cloe Moxam;     Harriet Pittard; Sam Barrett and Lizzie Neal.
