A pupil from Oswestry School has been selected to play for the Independent School’s Football Association’s (ISFA) representative side.

Jac Herbert will represent England at the Academy Tournament this summer at Oakham School, Rutland. He currently plays for Shrewsbury Town FC’s academy side which helped prepare him for the trials with the ISFA national representative side.

The ISFA’s teams cover U14 to U18 level and have previously competed against many top sides, including ESFA England and Scotland, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Dominic Bradburne, head of sport at Oswestry School, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Jac as not many boys have the chance to represent their country in sport.  This will be an enjoyable, stimulating, football-filled experience.  The department put forward several boys from the school to trial and I am delighted that Jac has this chance after all the hard work he has put in.”
