Oswestry School’s Bellan House prep school has become a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS).

The school went through a rigorous application and assessment process to attain its membership, which was confirmed at the end of December 2017.

Many elements of the school’s curriculum and its teaching standards were examined in order for it to join the prestigious association that distinguishes its members from other schools regarding education and care.

The IAPS supports the process of tailoring teaching to individual children and prioritising the safety and welfare of children in its schools, which allows for a more effective teaching method.

Claire Belk, head of Bellan House, commented: “This is a commendable achievement for us and something of which we can feel very justifiably proud. It is confirmation of the high quality provision and commitment to the wellbeing of our pupils that we know is the intrinsic fabric of the Bellan experience.”
