On 21 February, as part of their Form period, Year 8 pupils from Oundle School enjoyed a lecture from School Archivist, Stephen Forge, on aspects of life at the School one hundred years ago. They had the opportunity of watching film footage of the School from 1912 and of trying on items of uniform from the period.

The pupils were struck by the difference between life as a pupil at Oundle one hundred years ago and now and noted in particular the ways in which the buildings have changed, the fact that Laxton was a separate school from Oundle, the fact that there were no girls, how many different uniforms, and particularly blazers there were and that there used to be a railway station in Oundle with special school trains.

Pupil, Ruby Goodall commented, “A highlight of the talk was when we watched our fellow pupils dress in the old Laxton and Oundle School uniforms.”
