Oundle School pupils have produced another record-breaking performance in their Sixth Form examinations, achieving 25% of the results at A* grade. Pupils have achieved 59.4% of grades at either A* or A.

80 pupils were awarded three A grades or better and 35 pupils achieved four A grades or better. Twelve pupils scored at least four A* grades, beating the previous record by 50%. Ellie Cook, Chris Gilmartin, Viren Pandya, Rosie Vince, Abby Wong and Brian Wong each scored five A* grades. 22 top distinction (D1) grades were awarded on the Cambridge Pre-U course; this is graded higher than the A* at A level. As a result 13 Oundelians so far have confirmed their places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities.

Pupil performance was strong across all subjects, with over 30% of grades awarded at A* in Art, Economics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics.

The Headmaster, Charles Bush, said “I am delighted that Oundle pupils have performed extremely well, confirming the excellent findings of the inspectors from the ISI earlier in the year. The results represent tremendous efforts by both pupils and teachers. We are grateful for the academic leadership shown by this group of pupils during their time at the School and are proud of all their achievements. They deserve real congratulations on their success and have set up some wonderful opportunities for their futures.”
