Padworth College has a number of  microscopes to the Wakiso Secondary School for the Deaf in Uganda.

The initiative was organised by Project Le Monde and was made possible due to the generous support of Padworth Educational Trust.

Project Le Monde helps improve access to education for children in Uganda, so they can go on to live successful and fulfilling lives.  It fund-raises in the UK to generate resources for new school buildings, facilities and equipment and to help fund school places for underprivileged children who would otherwise miss out entirely on any sort of education.

Wakiso Secondary School for the Deaf is a boarding school located in Sentema, Kakiri Subcounty, Wakiso District, Uganda.  It provides secondary education to deaf children from Senior Grade 1 to 6.  The School is devoted to struggling for deaf dignity.

Lawrence Luyimbaazi, Head Teacher, said: “We are really grateful and looking forward to enriching our science laboratory to help out our students.”

Mark Jeynes, Director, added: “We were delighted to work with Project Le Monde and donate a set of microscopes to Wakiso Secondary School in Uganda.  We very much hope that the students at Wakiso Secondary get as much pleasure out of using the microscopes, as students have at Padworth over the years.”
