Menna Fitzpatrick MBE recently visited Rydal Penrhos to collect a donation for charity.

Year 6 ski captain Telor Jones and Jamie McLeod, head of boys’ games, took a trip to Llandudno’s dry slop earlier this month, presented a cheque to Great Britain’s most successful Winter Paralympian.

The Prep School raised a total of £400 from a fundraising disco, which was held in aid of Disability Skiing Wales.

Fitzpatrick, a 20-year-old visually impaired downhill skier, won one gold, two silvers and a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang.

This is the latest in a series of fundraising drives for the organisation put on by the school in recent years, something that has contributed thousands of pounds to the fantastic cause.

Mr McLeod, said: “It was great to meet such a well-recognised and respected figure within the sport, and on behalf of everyone at Rydal Penrhos I would like to thanks Menna for giving up her time to attend the cheque presentation.

“We are very proud of our association with Disability Skiing Wales, who provide an essential service throughout the country to give opportunities to those less fortunate.”
