A 100% A level pass rate is once again being celebrated at Pipers Corner School. The level of A* grades being awarded to students at the Great Kingshill school in 2012 is three times the level of 2011 with almost half of all the A level results achieving grades A or A*.

All the girls got into their first choice universities, which this year included Cambridge, Bristol, Nottingham, Loughborough, Bath, Newcastle, Birmingham and Exeter.

Among the top achievers were:
• Head Girl, Rachel Hawthorne, whose success at A level includes three A* grades as well as one A grade. Having been a boarder at Pipers Corner since the age of 11, Rachel will now go on to read Medicine at Cambridge University.

• Megan Hollett who, having achieved three A* grades is going on to read Law at Birmingham University this September.

• Jessica-Rae Moore who achieved two A*s in addition to an A grade and a B grade.
• Sophie Redgrave who achieved an A* and two A grades.
• Jessica Dowdy who achieved A grades in all three of her A Levels.

In terms of the whole year, over 60% of girls achieved top A* or A grades in at least one of their A level subjects.

In Mathematics and Religious Studies every single student achieved an A or A* and in Chemistry, Physics, Further Maths, History, Physical Education and Sociology no students achieved lower than a grade B.

Headmistress, Mrs Helen Ness-Gifford said,

"With the school experiencing an ever increasing demand for places and yet maintaining its belief that individuals matter and that we are not an exam factory and will never become one, it is fantastic to see our students achieve at the highest level and to send them on to the best universities in the country. It is because we know that at Pipers our girls get such a rounded education – and that these brilliant results are just part of their overall achievements here – that we are so delighted to celebrate with our girls and their families today”.
