Three Plymouth College athletes have been selected to represent Great Britain in a multi-nation modern pentathlon 
event next weekend.
Kelcey Pillage (Youth A girls), Kerenza Bryson (Youth B girls) and Myles Pillage (Youth B boys) will compete against athletes from Hungary, France, Germany and Japan to name just a few.
They received their call-ups after taking part in the Great Britain pentathlon trials at Hartpury in Gloucester.
Kelcey will compete in a swim, run/shoot, fencing event while Kerenza and Myles will take on swim, run/shoot.
Part of Plymouth College’s Modern Pentathlon and Fencing Academy, Kelcey is no stranger to representing her country and is on the World Class Talent Programme.
Kerenza is the reigning British Age Group Triathlon, Tetrathlon and Pentathlon champion and Myles is the reigning British Age Group Triathlon champion.
In fencing news, 11 Plymouth College athletes have qualified for the National Epee Championships after top performances in the South West event.
Tim Andrews (U16 boys), Yasmine Fosu (U14 girls) and Josh Hellings (U14 boys) claimed gold medals, Alice Simmonds (U14 girls) and Benjamin Andrews (U12 boys) took silver with bronze medals going to Wing-Kwan Yuen (U16 girls), Chloe Hamilton (U16 girls), Catherine Bishop (U14 girls) and Piers Dupre-Thomas (U14 boys). Jamaican international Tia Simms-Lymn and Kerenza Bryson both received byes to the national event.
“It is such an honour to see three of our modern pentathletes selected to represent Great Britain,” said Plymouth College Director of Modern Pentathlon and Fencing, Andy Hill. “They have had some great results over the last 12 months and to be able to compete for their country is the icing on the cake.
“I am also delighted to see so many fencers qualify for the national championships. We had a couple of champions last year and I anticipate some good results in 2013.”
