Plymouth College Pre-Prep Pupils Win Medals in National Athletics

Plymouth College National IAPS Athletics ChampionshipsTwo young athletes from Plymouth College Preparatory School have won medals at the national IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) Athletics Championships held at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham.

Competing in the U12 category, Abagael Black took gold in the 200m. She achieved a personal best (PB) of 28.67 in the heat and beat it again to finish in 28.50 in the final.  She won silver in the 100m in a time of 13.89. In the high jump, Bronwyn Harris set a PB jumping 1m 35 for a bronze medal.

“Winning medals at such a prestigious competition is a fantastic achievement,” said Plymouth College Preparatory School Headmaster, Chris Gatherer.  “I am very proud of the girls for representing the school in this way.”
