Plymouth College – Tia is British Fencing Champion for 2nd year running

Plymouth College pupil at the British Youth Fencing ChampionshipsPlymouth College fencer, Tia Simms Lymn, 13, has taken the U14 Girls’ Epeé title at the British Youth Fencing Championships. She was third in the Foil event.

The U12 Epeé and Foil champion last year, Tia was joined on the 2012 podium by fellow pupil, Kerenza Bryson, who took third place in the U14 Girls’ Epeé. Chloe Hamilton was 6th in the same age group while Tim Andrews was 8th in the U16 Boys’ Epeé. Annie Crocker, Taylor Ashby, Catherine Bishop and Alice Simmonds also competed.

“This has been a really good year for Plymouth College athletes”, said Plymouth College Director of Modern Pentathlon, Andy Hill. “Tia’s win brings the number of British titles to eight and includes fencing, triathlon and tetrathlon.”
