Plymouth College Modern Pentathlon scholar, Georgina Mitchell, has taken the U15 title in the British Triathlon Championships.  The talented multi-eventer was 40 points clear of the second-placed athlete in the shoot, swim and combined (run/shoot) competition.

Taking place in Solihull, the U17 girls’ team – Jessica Manning (8th), Seren Allin (10th) and Catherine Bishop (12th) – took team bronze.  Paddy Erskine just missed out on a medal coming 4th in the U19 boys’ event.  Annabel Denton was a creditable 8th in the U13 girls’ category with Lauren Singleton taking 13th place in the U15 girls.

The week before, Eimear O’Neill won the girls’ Youth B Irish Pentathlon Championships.  Held in Dublin, Eimear won by nearly 100 points in the fence, swim, ride and combined (run/shoot) competition. Paddy Erskine was 2nd in the Youth A boys’ event.

Meanwhile, in the latest round of the GB selection events for the Youth A and B European and World Championships, Kerenza Bryson (Youth A) took first place.  Held at Hartpury College, Myles Pillage was 3rd in the boys’ Youth A event, Georgina Mitchell 6th in Youth B and Ed Clark 11th in Youth A.

“I am delighted with this latest set of results,” said Director of Modern Pentathlon and Fencing, Andy Hill.  “This is a very busy time for the Academy with multi-eventing competitions nearly every weekend – our young athletes are having to work hard and stay focussed.  There are a number of international competitions this summer and I am hopeful that Plymouth College will be well represented.”
