Plymouth Multi-evening and Fencing Success

Plymouth_Irish_Epee_ChampionshipsThe Modern Pentathlon and Fencing Academy has had a successful week with national and regional success across a range of disciplines.

Kerrie Johnson, 15, took the U17 title in the Irish Epeé Championships in Dublin last weekend.  Tim Andrews, 16, came second in the boys’ event.

Up in London, Benjamin Andrews, 12, won the latest U13 National Ranking Epeé competition.  He beat the reigning U12 British Champion.

A group of triathletes competed in the South West Qualifier for the National Triathlon Championships.  The Youth B Girls’ team – Catherine Bishop, 14, (2nd), Ella Ellis, 15, (4th), Chloe Hamilton, 15, (5th) – won the team event.  Myles Pillage, 16, came second in the boys’ competition.

Six Prep School athletes took part in the South West Schools Biathle, a run, swim, run event.  Making up two teams, they came 1st and 3rd.

Benjamin Andrews, Catherine Bishop and Josh Hellings, 14, are currently all competing for England in a 30-nation international fencing competition in Poland.  Tia Simms-Lymn is fencing for Jamaica.  Tia and Tim will represent Jamaica and Ireland respectively in the U17 World Fencing Championships in Bulgaria next week.
