Plymouth_College_CambridgeTwo Plymouth College sixth formers have received conditional offers to study at the University of Cambridge.

Hettie Burrows, 18, will read Land Economy at Murray Edwards College. She is currently working towards A Levels in History, English and Economics.  A Senior Prefect, Hettie first came to Plymouth College in Reception Class at the Prep School.  An active member of the school community, she is in the hockey and tennis teams.  She also enjoys speech and drama and recently gained her Grade 8 Gold Medal in Acting (Duo).  Hettie is keeping her options open about her future career.

Jake Lunn, also 18, has a place at Emmanuel College to read General Engineering.  He joined Plymouth College in Year 9 and the Senior Prefect is working towards A Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics.  Jake is a big fan of surfing and wake boarding and hopes to join the rowing team at Cambridge.  He plans to travel and gain work experience during a gap year before going to university.  At the moment Jake is interested in a consultancy career in the energy industry.

“Many congratulations to Hettie and Jake,” said Plymouth College Headmaster, Dr Simon Wormleighton.  “The Oxbridge process is very rigorous and places are highly sought after.  Their offers are testament not only to their academic abilities but also to their characters and extended interests.”
