“We are delighted with our recent Ofsted report. We aim to provide our boarders with a supportive “home from home environment”. This inspection report indicates that we are meeting the high standards we have set ourselves but it is particularly gratifying to know that those who matter most, our pupils, recognize and value the daily dedication and hard work of all the staff who look after them.”
Mark Ronan, Headmaster. “

Independent schools are regularly inspected by Ofsted. These inspections evaluate boarding provision against several National Minimum Standards. Pocklington School’s provision was judged to be outstanding or good in all areas.

During the inspection “boarders and staff were observed working together and enjoying each others company. Relationships were observed as being professional though warm and friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere prevailing throughout the inspection.” (Ofsted Inspection Report, June 2010). The inspectors made just one recommendation for improvement, that our excellent nursing staff should have formal access to named doctor not just the Pocklington Surgery. This recommendation will be adopted by the school. Domestic staff were also commended for the good standard of cleanliness in all the boarding houses.
