On Monday 10th June, the best athletes from Year 7 & Year 8 competed in the Red House Invitational Athletics 
Tournament at Clairville Stadium in Middlesbrough.
One of the highlights of the day was Lilia Schiable winning the 70 metre hurdles, despite it being the first time she’s competed in the event and also with her being the smallest competitor competing against Year 8’s.
Also Hannah Raw put in a monumental performance not only to win her 1500m event but also to break the all-time record by three seconds!
With the record previously being set by Polam’s Maddy Winzer in 2006, Hannah’s time was 5:03.01.
Well done to you both.Other notable performances included Verity Denton coming 3rd in the Discus, Amy Hartley 2nd in the 100 metres final, and Sam Kitson and Pengma Gurung both coming 3rd in their shot put events. Very well done to all who took part. It was a great day
