Queen Margaret’s School is proud to announce eight girls from Year III have successfully raised £2850 for the Theo Trust during their summer coast to coast charity cycling expedition.
Riders jump for joy
Taking place over five days, the girls started at St. Bee’s Head and continued until reaching Flamborough Head.
The Theo Trust supports children from orphanages in St Petersburg. Two girls and two boys from the orphanages also took part in the cycle ride, the two girls having the opportunity to spend a few weeks as boarders at Queen Margaret’s.

The visitors ‘clearly had the time of their lives’ commented Mr Quentin Sands, a teacher within the Drama & Theatres Studies department who accompanied the girls on the trip.

Adverse weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of the QM cycling team as they traversed steep hills and difficult terrain. Credit must be given to all participants for rising beautifully to the challenge and remaining in good spirits.

Cheque from charity bike rideDuring a recent Assembly at school, the girls involved with the ride presented a member of Theo’s Trust with a check for the amount raised over the summer holidays.

Queen Margaret’s is a school where girls aged 11-18 aim high and exceed their expectations. At the heart of a QM education is a love of learning supported by a healthy body and a healthy mind.
