Queen Margaret’s School’s Fashion Show Raises over £5000 for York Charity

Glitz, glamour and gorgeous outfits were the order of the evening at Revive, Queen Margaret’ School’s debut Charity Fashion Show, held at The Chapman Theatre on Friday 9th December at 8pm.

Following a spectacular Christmas Concert held at the school, Revive truly showcased the talent of the Queen Margaret’s students who modelled their own creations before the judges.

Taking to the catwalk in outfits created from recycled material and charity shop bargains the girls were competing to be crowned QM’s next top model.

Judging were celebrities Stephen Beard star of Living on The Edge, Hollyoaks and acclaimed Chad Mcgitchie’s production of Undone, Umar Kumani fashion guru and joint owner of online fashion retailer BooHoo, Olivia Stappleton, professional fashion model and Liz Clothier, style consultant and fashion aficionado.

With champagne, silent auction and a raffle with fantastic prizes collectively worth hundreds of pounds, the evening was a night to remember with all proceeds going to the Riverside Project in York.

Queen Margaret’s were aiming to raise £5000 at the evening be spent to build a café at the heart of the building and are thrilled to be presenting David Lavery of the Riverside Project with a cheque for £5583.64 in a special assembly on Friday 20th January.

Deputy Head and organiser of Revive, Mrs Carole Cameron said of the event:
‘The evening was a huge success and we are thrilled to have exceeded our target of £5000 for such a worthy cause.’

Queen Margaret’s hopes to continue her support of The Riverside Project with future events and looks forward to seeing how the money raised at Revive will be spent.
