Queen Margaret's School GCSE Results 2014Queen Margaret’s in Escrick is proud to announce another year of exceptional GCSE results with 27% of all entries receiving the top grade as compared to the national average of 6.7% for A* grades. 58% of all entries at the Yorkshire school received A*-A grades. The results include 6 girls who have achieved 9 or more A*. The national average for A*-C grades is 68.5% which QM has exceeded by some considerable margin gaining 96% of A*-C grades.

York girl and QM Music Scholar, Isabel Suckling, has achieved an excellent set of results. Previously a Chorister at the Minster, Isabel became the youngest classical musician to gain a record deal in 2010 and has gone on to record an album and perform at The Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall and other famous venues. Isabel’s success follows on from last weeks’ best ever A-level results where Emily Scott secured a place at the prestigious Royal College of Music.

Mrs Carole Cameron, Acting Head said, ‘Congratulations go to the girls and staff for their hard work and dedication which has gone in to achieving these results. These girls now go on to the challenge of A-levels and we look forward to helping them to fulfil their potential in the Sixth Form.”
