Queen Margaret's School Top Independent Girls Boarding NorthQueen Margaret’s School has been named as the Top Independent Girls Boarding School in the North for A Level Results by Education Advisers Ltd and sixth position in the national league table.

Recognising excellence in academic achievement, the league table takes three separate outcomes into consideration; A Level results, A* and A grades obtained and number of pupils with exam success.

Queen Margaret’s most recent A Level results had 85% of candidates being awarded A*- B grades and a 100% pass rate, clearly showing that life at QM gives girls a fantastic grounding to go out into the world. This year destinations include the universities of Cambridge, UCL, Imperial, LSE, Durham, Edinburgh, Bristol, Exeter and The Royal College of Music and courses include Chemical Engineering, History of Art, Law, Mathematics, Fashion Management and Medical Sciences.

Mary Murayama, Development Director for Education Advisers Ltd presented the award to Acting Head, Carole Cameron. She is delighted: “It is wonderful to be able to accept this award on behalf of all the hard working staff at Queen Margaret’s and last year’s UVI girls who are now going on to make their own mark on the world. This award is very special as it highlights academic achievement in a school that also encourages girls to enrich their performances through high levels of participation in art, dance, drama, music and sport.”

Education Advisers Ltd assist parents in selecting an independent school. They publish their results on www.best-schools.co.uk a little later than the National Press to ensure the results are based on as close to 100% of schools as possible.
