Over the summer holidays Queen Margaret’s, York has undertaken a complete refurbishment of Cloisters, the LVI boarding house.
The team has worked extremely hard to create light, airy and modern bedrooms with bespoke built in furniture making fantastic use of the space. Designed in house, the rooms are based on American student loft living ensuring that girls have a private space within the room. The current LVI girls also helped with the design as they choose the curtain fabrics.
The girls can now enjoy large study spaces, dual purpose drawers also acting as steps up to their beds, stylish vertical radiators and brand new wash basin areas. The corridors and shared spaces have also been transformed with bright colours to complement the features of the building.
The girls are delighted with the new rooms: “They’re fab, so modern and the desk space is great.” “I love the sofa areas, a great place to relax.”
