Queen’s College U16s second in England

After qualifying for the national finals through a number of county and regional tournaments, the U16 team travelled Queens college U16to Cannock at the end of February for two days of competitive hockey at the National Hockey Finals.

On the first day of the tournament, the girls started off with a match against Denstone College, drawing 0-0, and then went on to win 4-2 against St George's College, Weybridge.

The Queen's College team faced Wakefield on the following day and won the match 1-0, which placed the girls at the top of their pool group and landed them a spot in the final.

They met the winner of the opposite pool, Cranleigh, in a tense final. Despite their best efforts, the Queen's College girls lost this match 1-0.

After playing matches against some of the top teams in the country, finishing in second place in the country is an incredible achievement for the team and the girls deserve many congratulations for all their hard work this season.

The Queen's College U16 girls are currently champions of Somerset and the South West, as well as one of the top teams in the country.
