Dollar Academy pupils are celebrating another year of outstanding SQA examination results. The pass rate at Advanced Higher was 93%, with an astonishing 61% of passes being at grade A, a new school record by a considerable margin and no doubt one of the highest figures in Scotland. The A/B proportion of passes was a very impressive 86%. Over 300 Advanced Higher examinations were taken in total, helping pupils to access top universities in Scotland and beyond.

In Form V, results at Higher also set a new record with a 95% pass rate and 63% of passes at A grade. 32 pupils achieved a clean sweep of five A grades at Higher.

Pupils in Form IV also produced exceptional results. Historical comparisons are hard to make, owing to the recent introduction of National 5 examinations, but a pass rate of 95%, with 76% of these at grade A, was very pleasing.

Senior staff are in school this week advising pupils on their options. The Rector of Dollar Academy, David Knapman, commented, “I am delighted that a combination of hard work by pupils and teachers and positive support from parents has helped produce such excellent results. Dollar pupils are encouraged to excel in all that they do, both in and out of the classroom.”
