Sedbergh School is delighted to celebrate the achievements of its Year 13 pupils’ A-Level results today with a 100% overall pass rate, including 90% achieving A*/Di* – C/M.

Sedbergh School Headmaster, Mr Harrison, shared his delight saying; “We are absolutely delighted with the results from this year’s Upper Sixth. This has been a very testing time for this cohort, and they have shown incredible resilience all year. I am very proud of all of them and all that they have achieved today.”

Exam results this year were based on Teacher Assessed Grades, which have been produced over the Summer Term, based on a series of mini-assessments in every subject, alongside any coursework or Non-Examined Assessment (NEAs).

There has been a number of brilliant individual performances out of this year’s results. George Welch achieved 4 A* and will head to Durham University to study Physics. Three pupils gained 3 A*s and 1 A respectively; Max Jackson who is applying to university in the next UCAS cycle, Peilin Chen who is heading to UCL to read Biomedical Sciences and Clemens Probst who will read Economics with Finance at Edinburgh.

We have also enjoyed lots of BTEC success, with this year’s Wilson Run winner, Natasha Cookson, achieving triple D* in Sport.

We are also happy to report that the school has achieved a new record-high value-added score of +0.82, doubling what was reached last year. At this early stage, we are also pleased to see that over 70% of pupils have achieved grades to secure their firm choice university place.
