A pupil from Repton School has signed a contract with Burton Albion Football Club.

Max joins the U14 side having signed a deal with the club during the Easter holidays and will make his debut at Derby County’s Moor Farm centre later this month.

Matthew Wilson, Max’s housemaster, commented: “Burton Albion are a great partner, in that they place a strong emphasis on academic achievement too and have been flexible with Max’s commitments here at Repton.”

Matthew Carrington, director of football at Repton, added: “I am really pleased that Max is going to continue his development with Burton Albion alongside his football here at Repton. Our aim is to give boys at the school a top academic grounding alongside genuine football progression; we do not believe that one has to come at the expense of the other.

“Training and playing with Burton Albion can only benefit Max and we look forward to working with them to help Max achieve his goals in the coming months and years.”
