Comedy collided with Science when the BBC's Robin Ince took to the stage as the opening speaker at Moreton Hall's annual Science Festival on Friday.

As he leaped at rapid speed from Darwin playing the bassoon to worms, through the world's weirdest creatures to quantum physics and Hadron Colliders the audience sat spell bound by his wit and knowledge.

'A sensational start to our annual Science Festival', concluded Head of Science Hannah Peel, 'and a reminder to us all how fun and fascinating Science really is! Our Science Festival aims to take Science beyond the classroom, and Robin certainly managed that. '
