Friday 24th November, Dean Close Preparatory School celebrated their annual Charity Fair! Over 300 children, parents, friends and families enjoyed a fantastic afternoon in the winter sunshine, splatting the rat, enjoying a make-over, discovering their most compatible pet spider plant, buying Christmas gifts and sampling an abundance of cupcakes, waffles and delicious hot chocolate.

The children have spent several weeks debating, organising and planning their own stalls. There were book stalls, toy stalls, a lucky dip, an unlucky dip and even a bouncy castle. Fortfield Housemistress, Mrs Alice Gould said, “We chose to do a Nerf Gun shoot out. It was so much fun – the targets were suspended in the air and quite tricky to hit.”

Pupil, Brianna Brown, enthused, “I had a great time with all my friends. I decorated a gingerbread man (and ate him), visited the beauty parlour for a glittery make-over and sang very loudly on the karaoke. There were some wonderful Christmas gifts, really funny Christmas cards and heaps and heaps of cake!”

Throughout the afternoon the Charity Fair raised an accomplished £2505.22, which will go to the Cheltenham Food Bank and Family Space.
