“The results overall are excellent and reflect both the dedication of our students and the exceptional levels of tuition and one to one academic support provided by our staff.

“Our aim is to help students make informed choices at Sixth Form level which will enable them to pursue successful careers in their chosen fields.

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students every success for the future.”

The results mean almost all Rossall students have secured their preferred university places, and will be taking up studies at institutions including Cambridge, Manchester and York.

Philip Wilkinson, from Blackpool, plans to study at Cambridge University’s Sidney Sussex College after gaining 4 A*s and an A.

Philip, who earned top grades in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Economics and Geography said: “I’m really pleased with my results. Studying at Rossall has pushed me to a higher level and given me the opportunities to do things I would not normally have done.

“It’s been a dream of mine to study at Cambridge since I was in junior school, so it’s fantastic to know I’ve got a place there.”

Rachel Hoggarth, who was awarded an A in Maths, and Bs in Computing and Chemistry said: “The last two years have involved a lot of hard work, but the support I’ve had from my teachers has been fantastic – they’ve given up a lot of their time help me get through my exams.”

Speaking of his time at Rossall, 19 year old Jack said: “Rossall has provided me with great opportunities to excel in my education, with clinics after school hours and friendly teachers who are willing to go the extra mile to help students achieve their desired grades.”

Hayley, from Fleetwood, who has been student at Rossall for 7 years, says the multicultural environment at Rossall has inspired her choice of subject at degree level.

“Rossall has given me wonderful opportunities to meet and make friends with people from many different countries and backgrounds. It’s really sparked my curiosity and made me want to find out more about the world around me, which is why I’ve chosen to study Geography at university.

“My experiences at the school have put me on the first steps to what I hope will be a career involving a lot of travel!”

Rossall has also inspired the future career of Jonathan Lee, who plans to be a primary school teacher after gaining A Levels in English, Religious Studies and Music.

Jonathan, who’s been a student at Rossall since the age of two, hopes to teach in the independent schools sector after being inspired by his own primary school teacher, Mr. Condon.

“The small class sizes and one to one attention you receive at Rossall really do give you the confidence and skills to handle the pressure of A Level study,” said Jonathan.

“The school guides you to become responsible for your own learning from primary school onwards and the help and encouragement Mr Condon gave me has played a huge part in my decision to become a teacher myself. I just want to thank him and all the staff for helping me to achieve the results I need to do it!”
