Pupils and members of staff from the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, proudly receive their Team T-shirts from this year’s sponsors, popular American-Italian restaurant chain, Frankie & Benny’s (part of The Restaurant Group).

Adam Lamb, Marketing Coordinator for The Restaurant Group, said, “F&B’s is delighted to be supporting the Royal Hospital School Swim Team. This group of young people have shown tremendous commitment and I wish them the best of luck in this commendable personal challenge.”

On Saturday 21 June, more than 30 members of the Royal Hospital School community will take to the water in the Great East Swim at neighbouring Alton Water reservoir.  This annual event attracts around 3,000 swimmers and involves either a 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 2 mile and 5k open water swim. It is part of the Great Swim Series which has five events across England and Scotland attracting in the region of 22,000 participants.

The Royal Hospital School pupils, aged between 13 and 18 years, have been training hard in the build up to the Great East Swim and are now ready to take the challenge. Swimming Coach, Emma Cook, who is also taking part in the event said: “Pupils at RHS tend to be a pretty determined ‘bunch’ and in the past RHS have competed and won best team and top times in their age groups. We have a strong squad of swimmers this year so I am expecting some excellent times and personal achievements”.
