Royal_Masonic_girls_Erika_Lovelady_PrizeMr Desmond Cox, Assistant Head at The Royal Masonic School for Girls, Rickmansworth, has been awarded the Erika Lovelady prize, in recognition of the quality of his thesis “Vertical or Horizontal? A study into the reorganisation of form groups in three schools”.

As part of the School’s and the Governors’ commitment to supporting the continued education of RMS staff, Mr Cox has been studying for a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and School Improvement at the University of Cambridge. Mr Cox chose to donate the prize money to the School Charity, “Honeypot”, a children’s charity that works to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young carers aged 5-12 years by providing respite breaks and ongoing outreach support. But he proudly retains an engraved medal and certificate, and said he was “honoured, humbled…. and bowled over!”
