Rydal Penrhos hosted a Prep and Primary Schools’ Lego Challenge yesterday, which was held in partnership with STEM Cymru and the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Five pupils from the Prep School, along with their local counterparts at Ysgol Pen y Bryn, took part in a series of different activities based on the theme of water, where they were tasked with working as a team to solve the challenges put in front of them.

Their understanding and final outcome drew praise from Phil Sutton, the head of design technology, and the rest of the supervising team. Each team member received a medal and certificates acknowledging their contribution in the latest in a series of themed-events and competitions put on by the department throughout the academic year.

Deputy Head Tim Cashell, said: “We are very proud of our association with STEM here at Rydal Penrhos, and our Prep and Primary Schools’ Lego Challenge was another fantastic demonstration of the incredible work going on day-to-day at our DT department under the expert leadership of Mr Sutton.

“Congratulations to everyone that took part and thanks once again to Ysgol Pen y Bryn for coming along to lend their support.”
