More than £2,000 was raised from a series of charitable events at Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School throughout the academic year.

The school continued its work for regional and national causes thanks to the hard work of both staff and pupils at the site, in addition to receiving support from the Friends of Rydal Penrhos committee.

The fundraising began with a Roald Dahl Day, before the BBC Children in Need Dress-Up Day raised £229 for the nationwide campaign.

This was followed by the annual FORPS Secrets Room, which transformed the Lyndon Library into a winter wonderland and donated £849 to the school’s ongoing charity work in Uganda.

The sum was further enhanced with a collection of £222 from the Christmas Carol service.

In the spring term, the Prep School held its Valentines Disco events, which raised funds for both projects around the site and Disability Ski Wales.

Sport Relief activities on the field raised £342, and the fun-filled FORPS Chocolate Bingo managed to secure £374 thanks to generous donations from those in attendance.

This took the overall total raised for external charities for the academic year to £2,113, with hundreds more raised for worthy projects at both the Prep and Senior sites.

Prep School Head Alison Hind, said: “We are enormously proud of our fundraising efforts here at Rydal Penrhos, and full credit goes to our pupils, staff and the FORPS committee for their tireless efforts during another very positive year for worthy causes throughout the region and beyond.

“We are very appreciative of the continued commitment they show and hopefully this is something that can continue in the coming months ahead of their return in September.”
