An artist from Rydal Penrhos has won a regional art competition.
Will Glanville, 8, beat off more than 70 entries to win the U14 category at the Llanelian Open Art showcase for his watercolour painting entitled ‘Pheasant’.
He earned a cash prize, the Llanelian Art Competition Cup and a signed photo of Darth Vader from actor Spencer Wilding, who played the villain in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Mother Nicky Glanville said: “Will was initially a little reluctant to enter his watercolour into the competition as there was some amazing artwork by some talented teenagers. We’re very proud of him.”
This is the latest in a long line of achievements for the pupil, who has contributed to the success of the school’s football and rugby teams this year.
