An impromptu inspection by a Conwy Council Environmental Health Officer has resulted in Rydal Penrhos School and Rydal Penrhos Preparatory School retaining its 5-star Food Hygiene Rating.
The ‘Scores on the Doors’ project operated by the Council sees Environmental Health Officers call unannounced at a premises to inspect hygiene practices and the food premises alongside the staff and their training.
Both of the Schools’ catering departments were awarded the highest score possible, which is a huge credit to all of the catering staff who work tirelessly to prepare a wide range of daily meals for day pupils aged 2 ½ to 18.
Boarding pupils enjoy their breakfast, lunch and supper at the school and a regular ‘Food Forum’ is held to provide pupils the opportunity to discuss school meals and to make suggestions or changes to the menus.
