Rydal Penrhos School pupils on fundraising dayA fundraising Eco day at Rydal Penrhos School has raised £471.14 for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The Sixth form Eco Committee organised an ‘Eco Day’ at the School, where pupils were asked to dress up in traditional dress from other countries, with pupils paying a small fee to not wear their uniform. A bake sale, face painting and a short-change mile continued the fundraising efforts throughout the day.

In total £621.14 was raised by pupils with £471.14 donated to the WWF to help them with their continued efforts to conserve environments of rare species and combat the effects of climate change in vulnerable communities. The remaining £150 has been donated to the School to purchase recycling bins for plastic to encourage recycling amongst pupils.

Numerous fundraising days have been held throughout the academic year, with pupils raising over £3000 for various charities including Sports Relief, Jeans for Genes, Children in Need and Breast Cancer Awareness.
