Shebbear College Junior School pupil Archie Boycott is celebrating a recent elevation to green/black stripe belt status for Kickboxing.
Archie has been an active member of the Bideford Kickboxing Club for 2 years and was recently awarded a certificate for his new status.
This was a jump of three levels from his previous orange belt award.
Kickboxing is part of the martial arts and is basically a stand-up combat sport based on kicking and punching.
The sport developed from karate, Muay Thai and Western boxing, and is practised for self defense, general fitness and as a contact sport. Archie also attends a local boxing club.
