Shebbear College pupils Emilio Aliberti and Max Warren both competed in the Shooting4England air rifle and pistol shooting competition recently held at The Big Sheep. The event was organised by Olympic pistol shooter Georgina Geikie. Congratulations to both boys, they got through to the Regional Quarter Finals which will be held in Okehampton in December.
Shooting4England has long term prospects to develop and help promote Air Gun shooting nationally. It is primarily targeted at 14-16 year old children, but the events are open to all to attend and participate.
Olympic shooter Georgina Geikie joined the college for their Sports Day back in May. She spent the day coaching shooting competitions. She was the first GB female athlete to qualify for the Olympics Pistol Shooting event and is working closely with Shooting4England, an organisation that aims to develop and promote air gun shooting nationally as a legacy of the London Olympic Games last year.
