Shebbear College – Success at the 21st Annual Junior Cross Country Competition

On Friday 8th Februrary pupils from Shebbear College Junior school took part in the 21st Annual Junior Cross Shebbear College junior cross countryCountry Competition organised by St. Petroc’s School in Bude.

Run at Summerleaze Down, on the cliffs over the beaches in Bude, this is the largest Junior cross country event held in the South West, attracting around 400 runners in teams from over 20 schools.

The event comprised 4 races, namely Under 9 Girls, Under 9 Boys, Under 11 Girls and Under 11 Boys running over 1km and 2km courses.

All the Shebbear Junior runners performed very well with the Under 9 Boys Team finishing 3rd overall. Notably, Eliza Banbury was 1st Overall in the Under 11 Girls race, leaving her competitors in the distance and Harry Brown came 2nd Overall in the Under 9 Boys race. Well done to all the runners who took part.
