Shebbear College’s 35 Mile Team came in safe and sound at 13:30 on Sunday 12th May, completing the 2013 Ten Tors Shebbear College Ten TorsChallenge second in their group of 16.

Conditions on the moor were so bad that twice as many walkers as expected dropped out. Shebbear’s team saw others crossing rivers unwisely and having to be helped out by Dartmoor Rescue.

The Shebbear team made long, but safe, detours using proper bridges.

A little miffed that they were delayed, they were unable to reach their target of Tor 8 by 20:00 on Saturday, but at least they kept safe and dry!

Despite awful visibility, the team stayed on track and had enough energy on their return to help collapse the tents and clear up. Mrs Bearpark said, ‘Many thanks to Team Shebbear for the pleasure of their company over the last year. They have been a delight to train and now Mr Kingsland and I feel incredibly proud of their efforts and achievements.’
